Andrew Jackson "Andy" Broadstone, 87, of McArthur, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at his residence. He was born October 3, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Andrew J. and Angela David Broadstone. Andy was married to Dolores Volk Broadstone, who survives.
He was a retired jeweler and tool maker. Andy was a WWII Air Force Veteran, a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Zaleski, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the McArthur Lions Club.
Andy is survived by sons, Andrew (Elizabeth) Broadstone of Stafford, Virginia, Daniel (Dr. Vasti) Broadstone of New Albany, Indiana and Brian Broadstone of Springboro, Ohio; daughters, Diane (Patrick) Connelly of St. Petersburg, Florida, Nancy Broadstone of Kettering, Holly (David) Albrecht of Dayton, Lisa Townsend of Columbus and Dolores Angela (Kerry) Young of Springboro, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and a sister, Helen Louise of Burton, Michigan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard and sister, Eloise.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 119 N. Second St., Zaleski, with Father Richard Engle and Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Interment will be in St. Sylvester Catholic Cemetery, Zaleski, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, from 9 A.M., until the time of the service.
Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
