MCCOLL - Betty Godbold Adams, 70, died September 19, 1999. She was a native of Marlboro County, SC, daughter of the late Marion Boyd and Martha Pearson Godbold.
Mrs. Adams was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Saturday Afternoon Book Club and secretary of Carlisle Book Club. She retired from Marlboro County Health Department as public health nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Adams, Jr. of McColl; two sons, Jesse Adams III of Florence and Boyd Adams of Manning, SC; two daughters, Martha A. Burris of Gastonia, NC and Bettie A. Carmichael of Latta; a brother, M.B. Godbold of Cheraw; sister, Julina LeVander of Rockingham, NC; her stepmother, Cora Godbold of Cheraw; and 7 grandchhildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Main Street United Methodist Church, in McColl with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Arraignments made by Rogers Funeral Home of McColl.
