HARTS, W.Va. — Mr. Joseph Keith "Joe" Adams, 86, of Harts, was born April 27, 1925, at Harts, a son of the late Major and Belle Dora Adams. He departed this life Friday, September 16, 2011, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Also preceding him in death was his wife, Avonelle "Mink" Adams, on August 20, 2008; grandson, Aaron Kirk; great-grandson, Kristopher Dylan Mullins; two brothers, Ward and Howard Adams; four sisters, Norma, Daisy and Maudie Adams and Hazel Martin, and  one brother-in-law, Lloyd Pete Adams.

Mr. Adams was retired from Holden Machine Shop, a former school bus driver, had worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways and a veteran of the U.S. Army  serving during World War II.

Survivors include his son, Larry Joe Adams of Harts; two daughters, Ada Lynn (Virgil "Fud") Kirk and Lana B. (Ronald) Mullins, both of Harts; brother, Wirt (Grace) Adams of Harts; a very special sister-in-law, Gaie Adams of Harts; three grandsons, Ronald Douglas Mullins and Larry Herald "Joey" (Trish) Adams, both of Harts, and Danny Shane (Cindi) Mullins of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Dena (Kenny) Barker of Mill Creek; three great-grandsons, Keegan Reese Barker, Gracin Coal Barker and Blake William Osburn, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 19, at the Mountaineer Missionary Baptist Church at Harts with Rev. Robert Peters, Rev. Leroy Spurlock and Mr. Adrian Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Dave and Alice Dingess Cemetery at Harts with Military Graveside Rites.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, family and friends.

Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. today at the church.
