Louise E. Christensen, 98, of Bridgman passed away on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman.

The service for Miss Christensen will be held 11 AM Friday, October 17 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman with Pastor Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may meet with the family at church from 10 AM until the time of the service on Friday. Private interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bridgman Public Library or Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Miss Christensen was born December 17, 1909 in Chicago the daughter of the late Theodore and Hulda (Westerberg) Christensen. She had an extended career in teaching, working for the Chicago Board of Education for 26 years and retiring in 1969. Louise was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman and a generous advocate for both the church and the Bridgman Library.

Louise was the loving sister of Marie E. Marzen of Ann Arbor; fond aunt of James Marzen and Carolyn Kishpaugh and loving great aunt to many. She also leaves behind many friends and students with whom she maintained a lively correspondence late into her life. Louise was preceded in death by her dear friend, Bernice Boye, in 2002.
