Glenn Emmett Thompson of 617 Third Avenue, Coralville, died at his home Wednesday night after a long illness. Services will be Saturday Nov. 15 at the George L. Gay Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. A memorial has been established to the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church building fund.
Mr. Thompson was born Jan. 28, 1911, in Sharon Center to Wilfred and Mae Frank Thompson. He was a carpenter for Burger Construction Co. and Wildman Construction Co.. both Iowa City firms. He married Margaret Reese Nov. 10, 1940, in Iowa City.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his widow; three sons, Rodney of Marion; Lee Roy of Cedar Rapids and Gerald of Iowa City; five grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Loyal (Nellie) Burkett {#14825764 ] of Iowa City.
His wife is the former Margaret Reese of Poole Community.
