She was born Aug. 31, 1910 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Janick) Jardno. she moved to Midland as a young child and attended Midland Schools. The former Helen F. Jardno married Louis Kartz June 30, 1928 at St. Brigid's catholic Church in Midland. Mr. Kartz died July 28, 1984. She is survived by three sons, Frank Kartz, Saginaw; William and Richard Kartz, both of Midland; two daughters, Clara Moll and jean Shuler, both of Midland; one brother, John Ziarno, Midland; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two children, Lillian and Daniel, two brothers, Louis and Steve and by one sister, Ann Mudd.
funeral service will take place 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 1987, at the Ware-Smith-Woolever & Company Funeral Homes, 1200 W. Wheeler rd., Midland, Mich. rev. Fr. Charles Nichols of St. Brigid's Catholic church will officiate with burial in Midland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. A Christian wake service will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial are available for the donor's a favorite charity.
