Bearl E. DeVore

GREENWICH -- Bearl E. DeVore, 86, of Old State Road died Friday at his home after a long illness.

Born Feb. 5, 1904, in Brinkhaven, he was the son of the late Lyman and Rebecca Phillips DeVore. A resident for several years of the Ganges and Mansfield areas, he lived in the Greenwich area since 1945. Mr. DeVore was an employee of the former Empire Reeves Steel Co., Mansfield, and was a painter in the Greenwich area. He was a member of Ripley Congregational United Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Donna Laser DeVore; a daughter, Patricia Postema of Plymouth; a son Bearl Devore Jr. of mansfield; two stepdaughters, Shirley Oehling of Ashland and Virginia Robson of Greenwich; a stepson, Keith Carnahan of Manhein, Pa.; eith grand children; 13 stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Robinson of Mount Vernon; two brothers, John DeVore of Brinkhaven and Bernard DeVore of Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilda Davis DeVore, in 1965 and three brothers.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Ripley Congregational United Church of Christ by his pastor, the Rev. Eldon Sheffer. Burial will be in Edwards Grove Cemetery.
