June Edwina Deline May, devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord on January 17, 2006.

June was born on November 11, 1920, to Edgar Elwood Deline and Drucilla Louise Baker Deline. Her parents, three half-sisters and one-half brother predeceased her.

June is survived by her two sisters, Marie Deline Marshall of Midland, Michigan, and Helen Deline Bates of Tampa, Florida; her husband of 64 years, James Aubrey May of Midland, MI; her children, James Aubrey May Jr. and wife, Jane, of Lake Jackson and Austin, Texas (grandchildren Alan May and wife, Molly, Chris May and wife, Danielle [great grandsons, Grant and Tyler], and Elizabeth Jane May), John Alan May and wife, Millicent Valek, of Lake Jackson, Texas (grandchildren, Jennifer May and John Alan May Jr.), and Rebecca May Smith and husband, Terry, of Midland, MI (grandchildren Jennifer Hamp and husband, Todd [great-grandchildren, John and Steven Fischer, Britnee and Megan Hamp], and Philip Smith and wife, Michelle Swantek [great-granddaughters, Haley, Mikayla and Katlynn]).

June graduated from Midland High and went to work for Dow Chemical as a secretary in the sales department. After getting married, June moved to Freeport, Texas, and became a housewife and mother. She lived in Lake Jackson, Texas from 1943 to 1963. June was active in the First Methodist Church, rose to various state offices in the PTA and often served as room mother at schools. She enjoyed visiting, playing bridge, cooking, sewing and reading, especially historical biographies about U.S. presidents and English kings. June completed two years of college by taking night classes. She was a marvelous mother and always had a sunny outlook and a bright smile. After moving back to Midland in 1963, June resumed work at Dow in the sales and executive departments, where she worked until she retired in 1981. In her job, she received many special rewards and traveled to other Dow sales offices to give training. She loved traveling and visited Hawaii, Alaska, Spain, Morocco, Nova Scotia, Canada and most of the U.S. states. June and her husband, Jim, established an endowed scholarship at Anderson University. Most recently, she was a loving member of Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church in Midland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chapel Land Presbyterian Church, 5501 Jefferson Avenue, Midland, MI 48640, or to the newly established June and Jim May Memorial Endowment Scholarship Fund at Brazosport College, Attn: Dr. Morris Pascall, 500 College Drive, Lake Jackson, Tx 77566.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral directors.
