William Plughoff met Grace Ann Hargis in Weiser, Idaho. He was a truck driver, driving from Weiser to Boise and back, and she worked for the telephone company. They were married on June 24, 1939 in Walla Walla, Washington and moved to Pendleton, Oregon, where they lived for a couple of years in an apartment. William was working for Consolidated Freightways at that time, and was transferred at the end of that period to Yakima, Washington. He died in 1957 after being married for only 18 years. His wife Grace never re-married and lived in Yakima until she passed away in June of 2015.
