Charles Norman Alford, 67, of McRae, died Dec. 6. He was an Army veteran who served in Korea and received several medals for distinguished service. He was one of the few survivors when troops were cut off at the 38th parallel.
He is survived by his wife, June Lindsey Alford; four stepsons, Paul, Gerald, Donald and Ralph Lindsey, all of McRae; two stepdaughters, Martha Sanders of Plano, TX; and Carolyn Sexton of Beebe; four brothers, J.O. [Junior Olas], Harold, Huston and Marvin Alford, all of McRae; three sisters, Barbara Reed of Austin, Linda Failoni of Green River, WY, and Betty Bundy of Cabot.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, David Lindsey.
Funeral services were held Dec. 9 at Westbrook Chapel. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe.
