Paul Abeln was born on Oct 1, 1843 in Neubörger. He immigrated on the ship "Germany", on July 9, 1871 from Bremen to New York. He was ordained July 30, 1876 in Covington, Kentucky. In June 1883, Reverend Abeln was appointed pastor of St. Augustine Parish in Covington, Ky. He remained pastor until his death, April 10, 1911.
