Kathleen attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in Journalism. She worked at the Star and Tribune in Minneapolis, and along with her husband, Richard R., helped found the ACTA, American Community Theater Association. She also worked for the Sir Tyron Guthrie Theater as the head of public relations. Kathleen authored a book entitled 'In Search of an Audience' in 1968.
She is survived by her son, Richard M. Fliehr and wife Elizabeth of Charlotte; and four grandchildren: Meagan, David, Ashley and Reid Fliehr, all of Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the Harry and Bryant Chapel, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte, with the Reverend Larry Watts officiating. The family will receive friends at Harry and Bryant following the service.
