The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Newell Helms and Elder Jared Smith officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Locust.
Mrs. Furr was born Feb. 8, 1918, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late John Paul Eudy and the late Ada Katherine Almond Eudy. She had been employed by Kayser Roth Hosiery, Concord, as a hosiery inspector/folder. Being one of 13 children, she enjoyed spending time with family. She loved gardening, quilting and basketmaking and she was an avid reader. Although Mrs. Furr had no children of her own, she was a special mother image to all of her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Martin Furr.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Concord Place, Discovery Program and the nursing staff of NorthEast Medical Center for making her last days comfortable. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
