Heinrich Plughoff was a blacksmith in Baltimore, then moved to Nevada & California as a pioneer and then farmer. He died at the age of 42, and his widow Amelia married his brother William Plughoff. After William died, she lived with her son Henry in Hailey, Idaho.

Marysville Daily Appeal - 7/17/1874, p3 - Death of an Old Citizen - Henry B. Plughoff, an old and respected citizen of Marysville, died yesterday afternoon at his residence on Fourth street, after a brief illness, of pneumonia.

Marysville Daily Appeal - 7/18/1874, p3 - In Memoriam - The flag hung at half-mast yesterday over Turner Hall, in memory of Henry B. Plughoff, deceased, who was a member of the Turn-Liederkranz Verein. The deceased was also a respected member of the Druid Society. His funeral takes place on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock.

Marysville Daily Appeal - 7/19/1874, p3 - Funeral - The funeral of Henry B. Plughoff will take place this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Methodist Church. Those last sad rites will be participated in by many friends of the deceased, including the Marysville Turn-Liederkranz Society and Germania Grove No. 8, United Ancient Order of Druids, of which the deceased was a respected member.

Marysville Daily Appeal - 7/21/1874, p3 - Funeral of Henry B. Plughoff - The funeral of Henry B. Plughoff, deceased, was attended from the Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon at four o'clock. The church was crowded with sympathizing friends, and the occasion was solemn and affecting. The Marysville Turn-Liederkranz Society, and Germania Grove, No. 8, Ancient Order of Druids were in attendance in large numbers, headed by the Marysville Brass Band. The following citizens acted as pall-bearers: From the Druids-George Regley, George Klock and John Hermann; from the Turners, A. Schulenberg, G. Hartman, and F. A. Grass.
