The death of Mrs Cordelia Adams from an apoplectic stroke occurred at 4:45 yesterday at the home of her son, J. S. Adams, Esq. on Spruce Street. Mrs Adams was 70 years old. Her husband who was a Methodist minister, died at Burnsville 48 years ago. Mrs Adams then removed with her only child, J. S. Adams, to this city and has since lived here. She has three sisters, Mrs. T E Reynolds and Mrs J A Sluder of Asheville and Mrs I M Boyles of Tyler, Texas.
