Mildred Rutledge Abercrombie of Rollingreen Village, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010.
Born in Laurens, SC, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Marie Edwards Rutledge and the widow of J. Russell Abercrombie.
She is survived by two brothers, Samuel Rutledge of Laurens and John Rutledge of Greenville. Also surviving are a nephew, John S. Rutledge (Mayuko) of Tokyo, Japan, and a niece, Ann R. Austin (Andrew) of Raleigh, NC.
Mrs. Abercrombie retired from the Department of Social Services.
She was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church, the Coed 35 Sunday school class and a member of the XYZ seniors' group.
The family will receive friends at The Mackey Mortuary, Thursday, October 21st, from 2:00 until 3:00 p. m.. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p. m. in the Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Jimmie Harley and the Reverend Roy Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joe Leopard, Hugh Badger, Brock Cooke, Gerald Abercrombie, Bill McCauley and Paul Ragsdale. Honorary pallbearers will be the Coed 35, Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W. Main Street, Taylors, SC 29687.
