Claudie C. Cooper, age 75, was the husband of Annette B. Cooper and a son of the late James C. and Lena P. Cooper. He was born in Ridgeway on February 15, 1936. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1962. He retired from Duke Power Company and Fairfield Homes. He was a Past Master of Ridgeway Masonic Lodge where he served in various capacities for 40 years. Mr. Cooper was also a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway and served as a deacon and in the church choir. He served three terms on the Ridgeway Town council and was a volunteer fireman and Meals on Wheels volunteer.
In addition to Annette, his wife of 53 years, Mr. Cooper is survived by two daughters, Jan Gregory and her husband Jeff of Ridgeway, Maureen Humphries and her husband Rocky of West Columbia; four grandchildren, Tabitha Wood and her husband Dennis, Jeffrey Gregory, Carissa Humphries, Cody Humphries; a great-grandson, Dylan J. Wood; three sisters, Helen C. Nichols of Ridgeway, Anne Miller of Antwerp, NY, Vera Urbano of West Trenton, NJ; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cooper was predeceased by a daughter, Linda A. Cooper; two sisters, June Rosso, Isabelle Littleton; and two brothers, Paul Cooper and Bert Cooper.
