Youngest child and son of Louis H. and Mary K. (Riedel) Wentz. He married Marcella Jean Juenger on June 1, 1941, in St. Charles, MO. He was a retired bricklayer for Local 2 (now Local 8) in Belleville IL. He was the first person at his union to attend bricklaying school and receive a diploma. He volunteered his time on many bricklaying jobs to include building fireplaces and showers at Camp Joy, Camp Keck, and Camp Vandeventer, all scout camps in St. Clair and Monroe Counties, IL. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville IL and was a former president, business agent, and secretary-treasurer for the Local 2 Pension Fund. He was involved in scouting and was a cubmaster at Henry Raab School, Belleville IL, receptient of the Order of the Arrow Boy Scouts of Okaw Valley, scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 11 of Cathedral School, Belleville IL, and one of the founders of Citizens Park in Belleville IL. He is survived by his wife, three children, five grandchildren, and a sister.
