Janet was a member of the Asheville High School Class of 1983. She was employed with Myers Park Traditional School in Charlotte for 13 years.
In addition to her parents, those left to cherish fond memories are her sons, Travis and Terrell Aiken of the home; grandchildren, Da'Najah, Elijah, Serenity, Sanaviah, Terrell, Jr., Jaimya, Trayonna and Shontrell; sisters, Brenda Buie of Philadelphia, PA, Carol Hill (John, Sr.) of Sumter, SC, Kathy Shivers of Charlotte, Dorothy Shivers of Charleston, SC, Hattie Shivers, Deborah Holloway (George, Sr.), Dianna Robinson and Sharon Shivers of Asheville; brothers, Charles Shivers (Georgianna) of Asheville, Alphonzo L. McGee (Patricia) of Hendersonville, William C. McGee (Jamie) of Kansas City, MO, Allen Payton (Sheena) of Asheville and Richard McGee of Asheville; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by sisters, Sheila Ann Shivers- Smith and Angela S. Fields.
Services will be held Saturday at Noon in Nazareth First Baptist Church. Elder Alfred E. Blount will officiate, burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
