An extended illness has ended in death for a former local resident, Mrs. Edith Steward, 66 year old Shelby County native, died Wednesday in Spokane, Wash., at home of a son, Esta Steward, with whom she had resided since earlier in the spring.

Born in Shelby county, Mrs. Steward was a daughter of William and Anna Mellis. She was married to Will Steward, who preceded her in death in 1918. Surviving with the son at whose home she died are two other sons, Mellis Steward, of Spokane, and Wilbur Steward, of Florida.

Deceased had spent her entire life in Shelbyville and Shelby county until a little over a year ago, when she moved to Ohio. After becoming ill early this year, she moved to Spokane to reside with her son. The body will be returned to Shelbyville for funeral rites and burial. Further details will be announced by Charles M. Ewing.

FUNERAL TO BE TUESDAY FOR MRS. EDITH STEWARD
Funeral rites for Mrs. Edith Steward, former local resident, who died last Wednesday in Spokane, Washington, will be held at the Charles M. Ewing mortuary Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. N. L. Schoolfield officiating. Burial will be made in Hanover Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary through today to the hour of the funeral.
