Mr. George Ashford Milner Jr., 79, of 1590 Dibble Road, died Monday, May 4, 1998, at Tucker-Dowdy Nursing Center, Columbia.
The funeral will be at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, with the Revs. E. Michael Rowell, Howard M. Hickey and Mellie Hickey officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Milner, a native of Blackville, was the retired owner of Milner Super Gas Inc. and Milner Trucking of Petroleum products. He served on the Board of Motor Transportation Association of South Carolina and was a volunteer fireman.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he served in the 2nd Armored Division. He received the Bronze Star for exceptional valor during the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, IPTAY Clemson and a founding member of Whiskey Road Fox Hounds. He rode with the Aiken Drag Hunt in Hitchcock Woods, was an honorary member of the Aiken Rotary Club and a member of Silverton Agricultural Club.
