Edna M. Erb was born on the family farm in Utica Township, Winona County, Minnesota, about 2-3/4 miles straight south of the town of Lewiston, to Catherine Mary (née FERCIOT) and Peter Frederick ERB (Sr.).

She was the sixth of eleven children, and moved with her family to New Richland Township, in southeastern Waseca County, Minnesota, in 1878. The Peter and Catherine Erb family would then move on to Dows Township in northwestern Cass County in the state of North Dakota, in 1882.

Edna married Aden Stevens Pratt, son of Joseph & Minerva (née HORTON), in Page, Cass County, North Dakota on 24 April 1890.

Aden and Edna would have two children while in Page, Alford and Theron.

In 1898 the young family moved, along with Edna's brother Peter Frederick Erb, Jr., to Golden, Okanogan County, Washington on the shore of Wannacut Lake. Golden was a booming mining and lumber camp.

Aden was soon managing a hotel in Golden.

The couple's third child, Celia, was born in Golden, but died at age 11 in nearby Oroville.

Aden was named postmaster of neighboring Wehesville, Washington, also on Wannacut Lake, in 1902.

Golden and Wehesville soon went "bust" and the towns started to dry up to ghost-town status. Peter Erb returned to North Dakota and took up selling farm implements and farming. Aden moved the Pratt family to Oroville where Aden became a retail grocery merchant.

Theron would migrate to Seattle and marry Pauline ANDERSON there in 1918 (Pauline was the daughter of Andrew and Maria Anderson of Nelson, British Columbia), and the couple would remain in the Seattle area for the rest of their lives.

Alford would head to San Francisco about the same time, during World War I. Alford would marry Treva L. (née HUNTINGTON), daughter of Camilla S. (née BARKER) and Charles Victor Huntington.

One of Edna's brothers, Enoch J. Erb, had moved first to San Diego in 1888, and then to Bakersfield about ten years later. His reports of the Southern California weather would later cause another brother, Martin V. Erb, to sell his Cass County, North Dakota farm when he retired and move to Los Angeles. Martin, his wife Sophia (née SAYER), and Edna and Martin's mother, Catherine, would move to the warm L.A. sun in 1911, and Catherine would live with them until she died in 1917. Enoch retired to Los Angeles in 1920.

Aden and Edna would also soon follow Alford to California. Aden retired and hoping for better health the couple moved to Los Angeles area, where for a few years Edna was near her brothers, Martin and Enoch. Aden would die in Cerritos, Los Angeles County, California in 1926. After Aden's death Edna found work as a domestic servant to a widower named Richard L. Rogers in nearby Downey.

Edna would eventually move in with Alford, between Graton and Sebastopol, in Sonoma County, in 1940.

Edna M. Erb Pratt died at the home of her son Alford, at 753 Cooper Road in Sebastopol, at the age of 91.
