A native of Woodworth, he had lived in Lake Charles for 58 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War Il and retired as a maintenance supervisor after 28 years with Cities Service. He was a 50-year member of Lake Charles Masonic Lodge 165 F&AM, and was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and International Association of Machinists Lodge 1317.
Survivors are his wife, Della Cassell; one son, Doug Cassell; two daughters, Connie Jones and Linda Monticello, all of Lake Charles; one brother, Jessie Lee Cassell of Gulfport, Miss.; 14 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
