Victoria -- Funeral services for John F. Schmidtberger, 71, Gorham, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, Gorham. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. today at Cline's Mortuary, Victoria. Friends may call at the funeral home until service time.
Schmidtberger, a retired farmer who had lived all his life in the Gorham community, died Saturday night at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays. He was a WWI veteran.
Survivors include the widow, Albina; four sons, Lewis, and Robert L., both of Victoria, Elmer, Ft. Collins, Colo., Paul, Great Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Lila Jean) Bollig, Hays; a brother, Frank, Russell; three sisters, Mrs. Adam (Mary) Jacobs, Mrs. Joe (Katie) Dreiling, Mrs. Philomena Kuhn, all of Gorham; 17 grandchildren.
