The Hickman Courier (Hickman, Kentucky), 15 October 1897, Friday

Mrs. R. R. Isler, mother of Mr. R. M. Isler, died, at the Douglas Infirmary, Nashville, Tuesday morning, after long complicated illness. Her relatives had carried her to Monteagle, where she spent the summer, and where it was hoped the bracing air, pure water, and careful nursing would restore her. But all in vain. Few ladies ever lived in Hickman, more generrally known, or more sincerely loved by friends. A character unique, sincere, perfectly candid, pure and honest. She lived in an atmosphere of higher thought, a pure christianity which linked her souI in oneness with the Master, which led her thoughts to the All Good, and her dally life to deeds of love, sympathy and kindness. Our heart bleeds over the death of this good woman, and our very dear friend. Angels have closed her eyes and with aching hearts we withdraw from the sad scene. God bless her memory.
