COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY - 08/14/2011 - BOWLES, Dennis K., 57, of Taylorsville, KY, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He retired from International Harvester in 2008, attended Fairdale High School Class of 1971 and he was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his father, J.J. Bowles Jr. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ann Alvey Bowles; his mother, Alberta L. (Sweeney)Bowles; two sisters, Shirley Hinton (Buddy) and Dixie Schneider (Carl); two brothers, Jesse Bowles III and David Bowles (Donna); the Alvey family and many good friends. Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, 111 N. Bardstown Road, Mt. Washington, KY. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
