Mrs. Edna Gouge, age 50, Route 2, Johnson City, died in the St. Elizabeth Hospital Monday evening after a short illness. She was a native of North Carolina and had lived in Carter County for the past 15 years.
Mrs. Gouge was a member of the First Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Rosler Gouge, April 1956.
Survivors are her father, John McGuire, Linville, N.C.; one son, Zack Gouge of the home; three daughters, Peggy Gouge of the home; Mrs. Howard Hyder, Route 2, Johnson City; Kathleen Gouge, Pensacola, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Biddix, Spruce Pine, North Carolina; two brothers, Hugh McGuire, Spruce Pine, North Carolina, T. D. McGuire, Linville, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Terry Hyder.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
