Edna V. Roper, 96, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late William Robert Edwards and Beulah Welch Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bronce Roper; a son, Bronce "BL" Roper Jr. and brothers and sisters, Mona Roper, Darrell Edwards, Clinton Edwards and Ethel Laube. Edna lived in Oregon for nearly 20 years before moving back to Franklin. She was a member of Burningtown Baptist Church where she was very active.
She is survived by three sisters, Ruth Simonds and Helen Fouts both of Franklin and Freda Bumgarner of Castle Hayne, NC; brother, Robert Edwards of Waterford, MI; three grandchildren, Greg Roper, Jeffrey Roper and Gary Roper; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 12 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Drinnon and Rev. Randy Ledford will officiate. Burial will be in Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bill Queen, Eddie Simonds, George Taylor, David Ledford, Fred Edwards and William Garrison.
Bill Drinnon, Benard Huggins, Roger Simonds, Donnie Bishop and Terry Land will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Memorial donations can be made to one's favorite charity.
