According to Mitchell County Sheriff Rich Jahnel, Adams was helping Russell Fox of Riceville, guide the antenna into place, when it came into contact with the power line. A backhoe was being used for the installation of the antenna.
Funeral services for Dean Adams will be held Thursday morning, June 5 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church of Riceville with the Reverend Father J.W. Bohr officiating.
Dean Rex Adams was born February 13, 1950 in Osage, Iowa, the son of Donald and Doris Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Adams, McIntire; one sister, Mrs. Thomas (Diane) Howland, Riceville; three brothers, Donald and John, LeRoy, Minnesota and Jim, at home in McIntire.
Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Riceville with the Chisholm-Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
