Rebecker was the daughter of James Knox Polk MCBROOM and Sarah Jane YATES. She married her cousin, John William Thomas MCBROOM on 10 Sep 1896 in San Saba County TX.  They had eight children: Queen Virginia, Callie Viola, Alice, Susie, Thelma, Iva Lee, William Alfred and John Daniel MCBROOM. She was a housewife.

Colorado City -- Funeral is pending at Kiker and Son Funeral Home here for Mrs. Rebecker McBroom, 86, who died at her home here early Thursday morning. She had been ill for sometime. Born in San Augustine County May 7, 1876, she had lived in Mitchell County since 1941. Mrs. McBroom had lived in Colorado City since 1947.
Survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Virginia Gaddis and Mrs. Callie Parker, both of Colorado City, and Mrs. Susie Good of Detroit, Texas; two sons, W. M. of Shafter, California and J. D. of Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Worton and Mrs. Annie Wagley, both of Odessa; one brother, F. T. McBroom of Bunch, Oklahoma; 27 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren.
