Mary Rose (Iannicello) Barnello, 87, of Mattydale, peacefully passed from this world, Sunday, August 7, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Mary Rose was born November 22, 1923, grew up in Solvay and was a graduate of Solvay High School. Mary Rose retired after 25 years working for Sears and Roebuck. She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church and a longtime member of the Altar Rosary Society. During her retirement, Mary Rose enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, traveling with her friends of the Mattydale Socialites group and spending the winter months in Florida. She will be adoringly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her quiet, friendly demeanor will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Mary Rose was predeceased by brothers, Anthony and Nicholas; and sister, Carmella Doran. Mary Rose is survived by her husband, Dominic of 61 years; daughters, Linda Duprey of Seminole, FL and Donna (Tom) Hoag of Cicero; sons, David (Ann) of Cato and Stephen of Cicero and six grandchildren, Jill, Tony, Adam, Tina, David and Jolie. She also leaves three brothers, Danny of Baldwinsville, Louie of Geddes and Mario of Pittsburgh, PA; two sisters, Josephine Marascalchi of Fairmount and Mary Haley of Escondido, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 10:45 a.m. from FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 11:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, Brewerton Road, Mattydale, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mary Rose Barnello may be made to the charity of your choice.
