ROSE HILL, Va. - Clarence England Sr., 84, of Rose Hill, passed away Monday (Jan. 5, 2004) at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital in Middlesboro, Ky.
He was a resident of Lee County, Va., for most of his life and a member of the Old Arthurs Chapel Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Annie England on June 30, 2003; his parents, James and Mary England; son, Danny England; infant children, Raymond and Gladys England; sister, Maggie Strange; brothers, Bruce and Tommie England; and infant grandson, Kelly England.
Survivors include four sons, Wayne England and wife Rachel of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jimmy England and wife Sandy of Houston, Texas, Clarence England Jr. of Rose Hill, and Michael England and wife Jan of Jonesville, Va.; four grandchildren, including special granddaughters, Melissa Pilon of Big Stone Gap, Va., Virginia and Amanda Rice of Cumberland Gap, Tenn.; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard England of Bledsoe, Ky.; two sisters, Marie Adams of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pearl Casteel of Maryville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Pat Fleenor.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Rose Hill, Va.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charles H. Long, the Rev. Robert Charles Long and the Rev. Jim Hubbard officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lee Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, Va.
