Marie H. Armstrong, 84, of Saint Joseph Care Center-West, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Birchwood Avenue in South Bend, passed away Tuesday, March 20, in the nursing home. Mrs. Armstrong was born on Aug. 16, 1916, in South Bend, to the late Andrew and Mary (Horvath) Kramer. She retired in 1981 from the former Robertson's Department Store.
On Feb. 8, 1947, Marie married Keith M. Armstrong, who preceded her in death on May 31, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, Brian on Dec. 3, 1953; sisters, Rose Wisnewski, Elizabeth "Betty" Horvath and Frances Prusinski; and brothers, Joe and Leo Kramer.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas M. (Juanita) Armstrong and Daniel (Dawn) Armstrong, both of South Bend; grandchildren, Scott and Kristy McKenna, Cassie Singleton and Ryan Leazenby; great-grandchildren, Austin and Page Leazenby and Genika Singleton. A sister, Agnes Monhaut of South Bend and brothers, John Kramer and Andrew "Tip" Kramer, both of South Bend, also survive.
