J. D. (Julius Dwight) Holleman, Jr., 79, of Mt. View Church Rd., Moncure, died November 15, 2010 at his home.

Born in Durham County June 6, 1931, Mr. Holleman was a son of J. D. Holleman, Sr. and Zada Howard Holleman. Mr. Holleman was a mechanic with the Chevrolet dealership in the 1970's before opening his own garage, which he operated for the majority of his working life. Later, he was an operator of the Chatham County recycling center. Mr. Holleman was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Roland Holleman of the Asbury community and John and Tammy Holleman of Pittsboro; a step-daughter, Jane Lamb of Charlotte; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Doris Tant and Madeline Hudson both of Pittsboro, Inez Sessoms of Fuquay.
His wife, Dorothy E. Holleman, preceded him in death in February 3, 2007.

The funeral service for Mr. J.D. Holleman will be held at 11 am Thursday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro. Interment will be held at 2 pm Thursday at New Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery in Knightdale. Friends may visit with the family from 6 – 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
