Tommy Lee Brookshire was born October 26, 1951 to Thomas Brookshire and Willie Lee Bruner in Ft. Hood, Texas, and passed away July 30, 2011 in Mesquite, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dora; daughter, Ruby Clymer and husband Chuck; granddaughters, Lauren and Kaitlyn Clymer; mother Lee Brookshire; brothers, Richard Austin and Terry Brookshire; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Brookshire will be remembered for his love of art. He was an avid oil painter and was inspired by his travels and the beauty in all of God's creations. He never met a stranger and he will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family and his church. Visitation is 6-8pm Monday, August 1, 2011 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00am Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, 1200 Poplar Drive, Mesquite, Texas, with Reverend Richard Flowers and Reverend Chad Flowers officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.
