Mrs. Fred Rice, 71, of Marshall RFD 6, died Wednesday, March 16, 1960 at (:30 a.m., in an Ashville hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., in Grapevine Baptist Church. The Rev. Jess Slagle will officiate, and burial will be in the Sams family cemetery. Grandsons will be active pallbearers.
Surviving are the husband; two sons, Claude Rice of West Virginia, and Sade Rice of Marshall; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Faulkner of Bristol, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Rollins Gosnell of Weaverville, and Mrs. Mae Sprinkle of West Asheville; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rice was a life long resident of Madison County and was a member of Big Laurel Baptist Church
