AUDREY I. THOMAS
Audrey I. Thomas, 86, of South Charleston died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in Thomas Memorial Hospital.
She was associated with Gorby's Music with 52 years of service and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston, where she was organist and pianist for over 55 years. She was also the pianist for the Union Carbide Men's Chorus.
Audrey was an honorary member of the Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Association and an honorary member of the Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Marine League.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio, and came to South Charleston at age nine. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert J. and Ida Smallwood Thomas; sister, Ida Hildreth; brother, Herbert J. Thomas Jr., who was the first West Virginian to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor, and for whom the Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston was name; two nephews, Charles and Donald Hildreth.
Surviving are a nephew, John and his wife, Juanita Hildreth of Lithopolis, Ohio; niece, Mary Ann Hildreth of Fairborn, Ohio; several great-nieces and nephews; adopted family, Mary Anna Rapalee of South Charleston and her family, Graham and Leona Shook of South Charleston and families.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston with the Rev. Rick McGuire officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
