Ramon Leroy Hochstedler was born October 30, 1920 to Roy L. and Lela M. (Squire) Hochstedler. He passed away at his home November 9, 1991 about 25 feet from the home in which he was born. Ramon was born near Osceola and was a lifelong area resident and farmer. Ramon served his country during World War II with the Army Air Corps, first as a Military Policeman and later as an aircraft mechanic. After returning form the war, he worked a year at the Ford plant in Kansas City then returned to Osceola where he engaged in farming. Ramon was especially fond of the Senior Center and its activities and had many good times and established many good friendships there. He was a quiet man who was a good friend, brother and neighbor. Ramon was preceded in death by his father and one sister Maxine Koger. He is survived by his mother Mrs. Lela Hochstedler of Osceola; 5 brothers, Alva of McAllen, Tx., Wilbur and Ansel, both of Independence, Dean of Osceola, and Wallace of El Dorado Springs; two sisters, Edith Watkins of Dawn, and Anna Mae Bonner of Chamois, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 12, at the First Christian Church in Osceola. Burial was held at Pleasant Mound Cemetery under direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home of Osceola.
