"I worked with Dick for many years and he was a good friend of mine," said David S. John, publisher of The Times Herald and a former advertising salesman with Mr. Templin.

"He was a fine individual and he did an excellent job for this newspaper in all the years he worked here," John said.

After returning to Norristown a year later, he resumed work in The Times Herald advertising department.

In 1947, Mr. Templin returned with his wife to California and took a job as an advertising salesman for the Yuba City Independent. They returned to Norristown in 1949.

Mr. Templin was a 1950 graduate of the Charles Morris Price School of Advertising and Journalism, Philadelphia, a member of the East Norriton Chapter of the American Business Clubs.
