ELLA LOU CARROLL WAS THE DAUGHTER OF REV. FERDINAND TILFORD AND LAVONA LOU DUNHAM CARROLL.

SHE MARRIED ROY ELLIS HOLT ON 6 JUN 1931 IN SCOTT COUNTY, VIRGINIA. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: JAMES LEE AND CHARLES TILFORD HOLT.

ELLA LOU CARROLL WAS THE SIBLING OF BEULAH MAE, THOMAS HOWARD, CHARLES LINCOLN, EZRA CONNER, FERDINAND TILFORD JR, TWIN BABY SISTERS, JAMES EVERETT, GOLDIE ALICE, LEATRICE GENELLA AND BETTY JO MARCELENE CARROLL.

ROGERSVILLE – Mrs. Ella Carroll Holt, 43, died at her home near Rogersville at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. She was a member of the East Mission Baptist Church of Rogersville. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hasson Chapter No. 179.

Mrs. Holt was the daughter of the late Rev. Ferdinand Tilford "FT" Carroll of Kingsport. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Little FT and James Everett Carroll and two twin sisters who died in infancy.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Holt; two sons, James Lee and Charles Tilford, both of Rogersville; her mother, Mrs. F. T. Carroll of Kingsport; four sisters, Mrs. Mae Wright of Port Penn, DE, Mrs. Goldie Wolfe and Miss Marcelene Carroll of Kingsport and Mrs. Nell Quarry of Surgoinsville; three brothers, Thomas Howard Carroll and Charles Lee "Seba" Carroll of Kingsport and Ezra Conner Carroll of Powell, TN.

The body will be taken to East Rogersville Mission at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, where funeral serves will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Bud Newberry and Rev. Grant Trent. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Rogersville.

Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville, is in charge.
