Jane Jackson was the daughter of Phillip Jackson and Sarah Downey. Her father is found in the early records of Fayette, Woodford, and Scott County KY. It is believed she was born in Scott County. In 1809 her father is found living in Zenia Township, Greene County Ohio and she was married to William Sutton in Greene County on July 8, 1813. She had two children, Ester Sutton and Mary Sutton. William Sutton died in 1818 and she married 2nd Isaac Best in Green County Ohio on 19 Sept 1819.
She and Isaac were the parents of Delila, William, Henry, Catherine, Sarah, Amanda, Samuel, Silas, Isaac N, and Josiah Best. She and Isaac came to Wabash Township, Tippecanoe County between 1830 and 1840 and resided in Tippecanoe County until their deaths.
