Coy Henderson, Rural Worker, Dies Suddenly
Coy Henderson, 51, well known Whitfield County citizen who has taken an active role in rural affairs , died suddenky Saturday afternoon. He was striken with a heart attack while in Knoxville and died in a hospital in that city.
Mr. Henderson of Cohutta, has been affiliated with many events in the county for the past many years. His wife, a member of the Dalton High School faculty, died suddenly of a heart attack, nearly three years ago.
Mr. Henderson was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Ciohutta, was a past president pf the Ruritan Club, past president of the Whitfield County Farm Bureau, past president and directorof the North Georia fair Association, supervisor of Limestone Valley Soil Conservation District, former member of the board of edication of Cohutta, and a member of the American Legion Post 112 in Dalton.
He is survived by one son, Carey Henderson, one daughter, Miss Ranelle Henderson, parents. Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Henderson, all of Cohutta; one brother, Denton Henderson, and one sister Mrs, G. Richard Fox, both of Chattanooga; several aunts. uncles, neices and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Monday at 2 p.m., from the First Presbyterian Church in Cohutta with the Rev.Paul Capperman and Dr. S. Wilkes Dendy officiating. Burial was in West Hill Cemetery with Kemmer Brothers Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
