Louis I. Allen, 67, formerly of Tippecanoe County, died at a.m. Wednesday in Veterans Hospital, Prescott, Ariz., where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been ill for several years.
He was born in Stockwell and lived in this area for many years. He had been in Arizona for the last 25 years and prior to that time had lived in Elgin, Ill., where he was employed as a traveling auditor for the Chicago-Milwaukee-St. Paul Railroad. He had been retired many years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge member and past patron of OES, and a veteran of World War I.
Surviving with the widow, the former Mabel Byrd of Prescott. Ariz. are one stepdaughter. Frances of San Jose, Calif., and one brother Arnold (AI) Allen of Lafayette. The body will be sent to Lafayette.
