Henry Love was the Foster dad to my mother. Momma was a orphan at the age of 8 and was placed in the home of Henry & Estelle Love. My Papaw died in October 1983 from cancer. He was the first person I loved to die. I fondly remember Papaw loading all of up in his powder blue Ford truck with the squeaky clutch driving 25 mph down South Parkway to Pitsingers Store. Awww how we loved going to Papaw's for our visit to the store, we could get anything we wanted and trust me we loaded up! Papaw had retired from the Park's & Recreation Dept of the City of Huntsville after many years of service. After retirement Papaw worked around his house on South Memorial Parkway with his goat's, garden and apple tree's until the cancer overtook his body. He did not tell anyone he had cancer until his final day's. He was survived by 2 daughters, Ana Marylus Mahar & Lila Jean Farber. 6 grand-daughters and 1 grand-son. His wife Estelle had passed away in 1972. We miss you Papaw and we will see you again some day.....
