At age 22, he was the only person from Jackson, Mississippi killed since Operation Iraqi Enduring Freedom or Iraqi Freedom began, and he is one of 14 Mississippians killed overall...∼Army Spc Brown was assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, Fort Riley, Kansas. Brown was killed in action. Larry was involved in track, baseball and basketball at Bailey Magnet High School in Jackson, Miss. He had a passion for basketball and a great sense of humor. He always had the right thing to say and could make a joke about anything. Larry seemed happy when he called home from Kuwait on March 12, a week before the war in Iraq began.
