The Valdosta Daily Times, Saturday, October 16, 1993 - L.C. (Preacher ) Norris, 72, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1993, in Echols County while fishing. Born in Madison County, Fla., to the late Emmett and Nora Kent Norris, he had lived in this section most of his life. Mr. Norris had been a carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, the former, Mae Dasher, Valdosta; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Terrie Norris, Valdosta; two grandsons, Stephen Norris and Daniel Norris, both of Valdosta; one brother, Willie (Bill) Norris, Greenville, Fla. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct 17, 1993 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Rev. Milton Sellars and the Rev. Raymond Gabbard will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Norris family.
