Mrs. Walton was born May 27, 1916, in Rocky Bar near Elkton, and was a daughter of the late George and Ada Gooden McDonaldson.
In her younger years, she was a member of the St. Stephen & the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church at Rocky Bar. She moved to Elkton in 1994 from Dundalk, Md., where she had lived for 56 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and was a homemaker.
On March 25, 1940, she married Burnes "Mike" Walton, who preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1994. She is survived by a brother, Leroy McDonaldson of Grottoes; sisters, Ethel Cook, Maggie Turner, Francis Marshall, Pauline Shifflett and Beulah Merica, all of Elkton; brother-in-law, Forrest Walton and wife, Joyce; sister-in-law, Geneva Hustead; special niece, Brenda Stockett; special great niece, Emily Silverman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Russell McDonaldson, Ralph "Bill" McDonaldson, Lawrence McDonaldson, Melvin McDonaldson; and a sister, Christine Neff. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at the St. Stephen & the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church at Rocky Bar. The Rev. Stuart Wood will conduct the service. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at the Prize Hill Cemetery in Boonesville.
The family will receive friends today (Monday), from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Friends may also call at the home of her sister, Ethel Cook, at anytime.
