Born April 12, 1931 in Colquitt, GA to Jim and Clara Adkins, he moved to Naples in 1950. He was immediately employed by Leon Inc. and was committed to his job for 30 years. He became self-employed in 1972 with his very own lawn service, Adkins Lawn Service.
Rev. Adkins accepted Christ at an early age and became Pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Naples in 1973. He served his church and community until his death.
Rev. Adkins leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Ella Adkins; 8 children and an army of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 22nd from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1006 3rd Ave., Naples. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with entombment following at Naples Memorial Gardens. A charity arrangement will be announced at a later date.
