" . . . Jacob W. Sherzer, was born in Lebanon, Ohio January 7, 1828. He came to Franklin in 1846 and engeged in the harness making trade with A. D. Reeder until 1847, when he enlisted in the United States army and went to Mexico.
" . . . Burial was made in Woodhill cemetery and the G. A. R. ritualistic burial service was read at the grave by his comrades of John Kell Post."
