Landrum
Irby W. Hodge, 78, husband of Helen Lancaster Hodge of Route 1, Lake Lanier, died Thursday in Spartanburg General Hospital.
Native of Clarendon County, son of the late Benjamin Irby Hodge and Annie Hodge; retired Fairforest Finishing Co.; member and deacon of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Landrum; a Mason.
Also surviving: daughter, Mrs. Shirley T. Poteat of Spartanburg: sons, F. Dwain Hodge of Fairforest, Benjamin I. Hodge of Spartanburg: brothers, Thomas A. Hodge of Darlington, Walter H. Hodge of Spartanburg: sister, Mrs. Hallie Poole of Florence; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
Services 4 Saturday at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel by the Revs. W.K. Metter, W.B. Bolt, D.L.Hughey; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Family is at the home of daughter, Mrs. Shirley H. Poteat,; to receive friends 7-9- tonight at the chapel.
